15 Photos Of Prince Louis That Literally Capture Every Mood

Joy, exhaustion, excitement! And perhaps best of all, sass.

Yes, the Platinum Jubilee was a massive event in the United Kingdom held to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years on the throne. And yes, Her Majesty was certainly feted by her loyal subjects, both at home and around the globe. But let’s be honest, the weekend belonged to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s youngest son, 4-year-old Prince Louis.

The first weekend in June marked the first time that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge brought all three of their children along to several royal events. While 8-year-old Prince George and 7-year-old Princess Charlotte are fairly well versed in attending royal events, little Prince Louis is fairly new to the whole thing. And being a boisterous 4-year-old meant that every single emotion he felt the entire weekend was written all over his face. He could barely contain himself, much to older sister Princess Charlotte’s irritation. And to the rest of our delight.

In fact, a deep dive into photos of Prince Louis at the Platinum Jubilee offers a significant representation of the breadth of human emotion. The love, the joy, the exhaustion, the excitement. And perhaps best of all, the sass. Let Prince Louis be your mood guide.

When it’s too hot to be charming

I would say all three of the Cambridge kids were moods during their carriage ride in the hot, baking sun through screaming crowds of fans; their faces are basically big “no thank yous.”

When you’ve had enough

Haven’t you always secretly wanted to do what Prince Louis did during the Trooping the Colour? Put your hands over your ears and scream at the top of your lungs to let everyone know you’ve had enough?

When you’re feeling sassy

While watching the Platinum Jubilee pageant, Prince Louis was everyone’s favorite sassy little prince when he did a finger wag at his mom and said “I don’t think so” with an attitude. The next time you feel like you need an extra dose of sass, conjure this iconic image for yourself.

Prince Louis watched the Trooping the Colour from the balcony of Buckingham Palace for ages. When he’d had enough, he made sure everyone knew he was bored. Iconic.

I’m so glad Prince Louis brought back this expression that has no name but everyone knows what it means. It’s basically a “na na na boo boo” face and it’s perfect.

When the queen knows you’re a star

Look at the way Queen Elizabeth is watching Prince Louis. Even she knows he’s the star. Would that we all feel that way about ourselves.

When you don’t care who you annoy

Princess Charlotte had clearly had enough of her brother’s antics while watching Trooping the Colour, and he looked like he couldn’t have cared less. Classic youngest child behavior.

When you’re ready to party

Sure, Prince Louis was a bit of a wild child. But no one can cast aspersions on his enthusiasm for the Platinum Jubilee. Here he is, looking like he’s about to go fist pumping at the club.

When you’ve heard enough

It’s fair to say that Kate Middleton was exceptionally patient when Prince Louis was crawling all over the place and giving her attitude. She tried whispering instruction to him and this was his response: to cover her mouth and look away imperiously. That’s what she gets for trying, I guess.

When you know you’re in trouble

Prince Louis was passed down to dad Prince William, and from the look on his face, I would say the duke was laying down the law. For a minute, anyhow.

When you’re planning your next attack

Kate Middleton looked to be enjoying a bit of peace while her youngest sat beside her, silent, clearly plotting his next attack.

When you find your best friend

Prince Louis made his way over to his grandfather Prince Charles to sit in his lap, and the two looked like long-lost pals. So happy to be hanging out together. How sweet.

When your storytelling is a little too animated

Prince Louis looked like he was telling one heck of a tale at the queen’s birthday parade, and I think we’ve all been there. The story gets bigger with every gesture.

When you just want to have fun

Kate Middleton can’t seem to keep herself from laughing at Prince Louis, and neither can we. Especially when he’s making this face.

After some back and forth with his mom, Prince Louis was ready to be all sweet and docile, cuddling in for the duration. He knows what he’s doing.
