No couple is absolutely perfect, but there sure are some that seem to fit the bill. One of them resides across the pond on the grounds of a literal castle and have given the world a love story for the ages. They’re not afraid to show their feelings for one another either, as evidence by the many times Prince Harry has showed his love for Meghan Markle.

The prince and former Suits actress met in 2016 through mutual friends, as Markle shared with Vanity Fair in a 2017 interview. Their romance was fairly low-key and they kept things private in the beginning, although any couple at that level of public scrutiny is going to draw attention and, of course, criticism. At the time, Markle told Vanity Fair she leaned on Prince Harry for support: "It has its challenges, and it comes in waves — some days it can feel more challenging than others. And right out of the gate it was surprising the way things changed. But I still have this support system all around me, and, of course, my boyfriend’s support."

Prince Harry has had her back every step of the way since then too, and we often see that exhibited through his sweet and adorable displays of affection. And here are just a few of the most swoon-worthy moments between the lovebirds.

When Prince Harry Called Out Dangerous Practices

There is routine criticism in the life of any famous person, but sometimes things get out of hand. That was the case early on when Prince Harry publicly requested that people leave his new girlfriend alone, according to Variety.

"His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. Some of this has been very public — the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social-media trolls and web-article comments," Prince Harry said in a statement released by the palace in November 2016. "Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her."

The statement continued, "It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is 'the price she has to pay' and that 'this is all part of the game.' He strongly disagrees. This is not a game — it is her life and his."

When Prince Harry Asked Tabloids To Back Off

In addition to pointing a finger at the press, Prince Harry flat-out told the press they needed to stop, a bold statement for a royal. The November 2016 comments released by the palace said:

He has asked for this statement to be issued in the hopes that those in the press who have been driving this story can pause and reflect before any further damage is done. He knows that it is unusual to issue a statement like this, but hopes that fair-minded people will understand why he has felt it necessary to speak publicly.
