8 T.J.Maxx Hacks Every Mom Needs To Know

As a mom, you're almost always short on time and money. Which is why T.J.Maxx can be total lifesaver when comes to shopping for housewares, beauty products and clothes for your entire family. A one-stop shop for designer goods at crazy low prices, it's practically impossible to walk out of the store empty handed — even if you don't find the one thing you actually came for in the first place. But searching through unorganized racks isn't for everyone, which is why there are some T.J. Maxx hacks every mom needs to know to make your bargain hunting experience amazing.

From knowing how to read the tags in a snap (each color means a different deal is in store for you), to knowing what exactly the benefit is of owning the store's branded card, there are plenty of mom hacks that will get you the most out of shopping at T.J.Maxx. If you've ever shopped at T.J. Maxx, you already know that the experience can be as exciting as treasure hunting in a place filled with gold, or a total headache. Each week, the shelves are stocked with deeply discounted goodies that will make you feel like you're committing a crime (though you'll have to shift through the crowds, and as with any retail store, sometimes unorganized merchandise to do so). If you think that's cool, there are things you can do to get even more for your money. Signing up for email notifications, finding out when new shipments come into your local store, and following the store on social media are a few simple ways to make sure you are getting the latest and greatest merchandise at the best prices. And for those that would rather shop from their couch than be bothered with lines and crowds, the website is stocked 24/7 with deals that can be delivered right to your door.

While you're there, be sure to do something nice for yourself. I suggest perusing the beauty section for great deals on soaps, perfumes, and cosmetics. Why not splurge on a bottle of bubble bath in your favorite scent? If you're not already a fan, you will be after you try a few of these time and money saving tips.

1Look Online

In addition to shopping in the store, you can take advantage of many of the same great deals online. As Jillian Rugani of T.J.Maxx tells Romper, is stocked regularly with brand name fashion at discounted prices, and shipping is free.

2If You See Something You Like, Grab It

If you love something you see on the rack, grab it quick. If you think it's fabulous, chances are someone else will too. And it's likely that there isn't another one where that came from. "We don't hold replenishment stock in our back rooms," says T.J.Maxx's Jillian Rugani. So don't miss out on something great by taking too much time to decide.

3Check The Tags

Be sure to check the price tags to know how much of a deal you're really getting, as Rather Be Shopping suggested. Red tags indicate that the price of an item has been marked down at least once. A yellow tag means that the price is as low as it's going to go. And for designer-loving divas, purple tags mean you're getting a discounted designer deal straight from the runway.

4Sign Up For Emails

With everything you have going on, you don't have time to wander the aisles on a regular basis looking for new items. So why not let them tell you when there's something worthing checking out? As Redbook advised, signing up for e-mail alerts about new merchandise and great deals can be a huge time saver for busy moms.

5Charge It

The TJX Rewards credit card can help make all of that shopping pay off in a big way. With the card, you can collect points as you shop, and earn a $10 rewards certificate for every 1,000 points you collect. You'll even rack up points on when you're shopping somewhere else, because your T.J.Maxx card can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted.

6Shop Around

At T.J.Maxx, it's important to keep in mind that every location has different inventory. So don't get discouraged if you don't find exactly what you need at one store. Just hop in the car and head to another location.

7Follow Them On Social Media

To stay up to date on the latest T.J.Maxx news, be sure to stay connected to the store on social media, as Working Mother suggested. They often announce sales or special events on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

8Know When To Go

While each location receives new items every week, the exact day varies by store. So if you're looking for the best days to shop, check in with your favorite T.J.Maxx location. "Ask your local store manager what days new shipments come in," Jillian Rugani added. That way you'll be one of the first to get access to a fresh lot of goods.
