Ed Sheeran's Sweet Message To His Baby Namesake…

Ed Sheeran is leaving his controversial cameo on Game of Thrones behind him for a much better topic... babies! Because he apparently "loves babies," which should come as a surprise to exactly no one on the planet. I'm sure he loves all babies pretty equally, but Sheeran's sweet message to his baby namesake is proof positive that if you name your own baby after him, chances are he'll probably serenade you. Just saying.

Rocky and Harmony Smith of Wellington, Florida win the Biggest Ed Sheeran Fans award for multiple reasons. First, this couple have gone to several of the "Shape of You" singer's concerts throughout Florida. And second (perhaps more importantly), the two named their one-year-old daughter after him; Cooper Sheeran Smith. It seems the two feel a special connection with Sheeran for good reason; Rocky Smith told E! News the really lovely story behind his daughter's name:

We were trying for years to have a child. Eventually we decided to have a procedure where a doctor had to do the insemination manually. It was Christmas morning of 2015 at 9:30 am. After the procedure, as my wife laid on the table waiting and hoping this time we would receive our miracle, I pulled out my phone and played 'Tenerife Sea' on repeat while I sat beside her holding her hand. About six weeks later, we received a call that would change our lives forever. It was a very easy pregnancy and even child birth was done without an epidural!

After debating between using Sheeran or Tenerife, Harmony decided on Sheeran. And the rest, as they say, is history.

The Smith family, including little Cooper Sheeran, attended the other Sheeran's concert at the American Airlines Center in Miami, Florida on Wednesday. And while they didn't get to actually meet Sheeran, they did get to have a surreal exchange with him. They spoke to Sheeran from the crowd, telling him they had named their baby after him. And his response, according to People, was epic:

Her middle name is Sheeran? I’ve never seen a baby this calm at a concert. Just chilling there for the whole thing and you guys have been loud, you’re singing and she’s just kinda like … I love babies!

He then proceeded to dedicate a performance of his song "Dive" to Cooper, telling fans not to worry about the noise level:

I want you to be as loud as you can. Cause she’s gonna be chill.

At the age of one, Cooper is already marked for life with Ed Sheeran love. Although her dad, who owns a karaoke company, explained to The Miami Herald that her fandom was destined before she was even born.

I’m a singer and I sing only Ed Sheeran to her. She hears it on the radio when I’m not around and she’s looking for daddy. She’s been listening to him since before she was born. We had speakers that we could attach to my wife’s stomach where I would play his songs for her.
