Kim Kardashian's Tweet At Trump About Puerto Rico Said Exactly What Everyone Is Thinking

There comes a time in the life of the modern woman when you realize that a Kardashian has literally just spoken for you. And that's OK. Because, while Kim K may be a famous bazillionaire and live a life that I can only imagine, as a mom and as a human being, there's more that we have in common than not. I may be sitting here in old pajama bottoms from Target, wondering why I'm the only person in town who seems capable of unloading the dishwasher, and she is ... probably not ... but Kim Kardashian's tweet at Trump proves that together we share a mutual horror over the Trump administration's handling of the crisis in Puerto Rico. And her tweet just said exactly what I wish I could say to our so-called President's face.

Today has been a banner day when it comes to Trump and Twitter, and that's really saying something. Earlier on this fine Saturday morning, Trump unleashed a bizarre diatribe railing against not only the mayor of San Juan but the entire island of Puerto Rico (more on that later). Disgusting enough, to be sure. But then, in a typically petulant response to what he deems criticism, Trump tweeted a message to "the people" of Puerto Rico.

"Do not believe the #FakeNews! #PRStrong!" he told our fellow American citizens who are currently struggling to find the basic necessities for survival, from clean water to open, functioning hospitals. This was his message in this time of unfathomable loss and fear:

And this, friends, is the Kim Kardashian reply tweet that will forever endear her to me:

I really could not have said it better myself, and I applaud Kim Kardashian for using her celebrity and her "reach" to call out this man's f*ckery.

In case you missed the earlier Trump-Tweetstorm, here's what our fearless leader had to say on the topic of the devastation being faced by our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico, who are coping with the horrific aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

“The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump,” the Donald tweeted early Saturday. “Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort. 10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job.”

So, to recap: Trump used his 140 characters several times in a row to not only chastise San Juan mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, who has been literally wading through contaminated water to try to help her fellow citizens, but to also basically call the entire population of Puerto Rico lazy and unwilling to "help themselves."

"They want everything to be done for them."

Clearly, this comes in response to Cruz pleading for help for her constituents, and calling out the Trump administration's lack of leadership and support.

"We are dying, and you are killing us with the inefficiency and the bureaucracy," Cruz said Friday at a news conference. "I am done being polite. I am done being politically correct. I am mad as hell."

I'm mad as hell, too. And I thank celebrities like Kim Kardashian who aren't afraid to use their voice and their platform to shout what needs to be said. Of course, she does run the risk of having our thin-skinned commander in chief block her on Twitter, but that, alas, is a risk one must be willing to take in this bizarre time. In the meantime, I only hope that every possible resource at the disposal of our great nation is being directed at the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico.
