The *NSYNC Reunion Can't Come Soon Enough

Lance Bass, you tease. The former *NSYNC member has been torturing the band's myriad fans with loads of "maybes" and "we'll see" lately. As the band prepares for its 20th (NOT a typo) anniversary, fans are desperate to see what *NSYNC might do to celebrate: a new album? A video? Matching tattoos of Justin Timberlake? At any rate, if you're wondering when the *NSYNC reunion will happen, you might want to cool your jets for a minute. Because at this stage of the game, it's no more than a coy little whisper being carried on the breeze by the former boy band.

Lance Bass spoke with Entertainment Tonight about how the iconic boy band plans to celebrate their reunion (I'm personally seeing matching baggy black suits and porkpie hats, but that's just me). According to Bass:

We're doing something [special]. I don't know if I can announce it yet.

Now before you start Tearing Up Your Heart, Bass did go on to offer a little more info in his interview:

We're coming out with a really cool vinyl edition of our Christmas album because it's coming up on the 20 years of that [1998 Home for Christmas] album. And then we're going to be getting our star on the [Hollywood] Walk of Fame this year at some point.

Yes, yes, Lance, but what about the reunion? "We'll all be there!" he teased. "We just have to decide on a date. We're terrible at planning things."

So when he says "we'll all be there"... do you think he means, like seriously all of them? Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and JC Chasez as well? The whole crew, including the elusive J.T.? Because if that's the case, things just got real. The whole crew haven't been together since the band broke up in 2002. According to Bass, the guys (all of them) "talk every day" and are definitely planning a reunion.

We're five guys, so for us to make a decision about anything is really hard, so we just need to do it. So hopefully maybe around Christmas time. It'll be fun to see everybody again.

Now You May Hate Me, but I wouldn't get your heart set on Timberlake (who went on to become mega famous in his own right for his music and also, I suppose, his frequent cameos and hilarious parodies of his time in a boy band on Saturday Night Live) being involved with a reunion. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Timberlake talked about why he left *NSYNC, and didn't exactly make it sound like he missed his former bandmates:

We were on a stadium tour, and I just felt like the whole thing was too big. It started as a fun snowball fight that was becoming an avalanche. And, also, I was growing out of it. I felt like I cared more about the music than some of the other people in the group. And I felt like I had other music I wanted to make and that I needed to follow my heart.

That doesn't sound like someone who wants to climb back into his fluorescent colored parachute pants, if you ask me.

Still, *NSYNC fans can dream for now. Right?
