Alexa Thompson

Alexa Thompson is the Associate Director of Social Media for the BDG parenting group, where she oversees social media content and strategy for Romper, Scary Mommy, and Fatherly. Working closely with the editorial and design teams, she also manages the day-to-day content creation for Romper’s social platforms. When she’s not spending copious amounts of time online, she occasionally covers events, conducts interviews, and flexes her writing skills on Romper.com.

Alexa started out at Romper in 2021 as the Senior Social Media Manager and clearly just could not get enough parenting content, and expanded her role to include Scary Mommy and Fatherly as well. Alexa was promoted to Associate Director in 2023.

Before joining BDG, Alexa has worked in social media and editorial positions at Disney's Babble, SheKnows, and the Penguin Random House imprints Vintage & Anchor Books. Her experience accumulates to 9+ years in the digital media space. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English Communications, with a minor in Marketing and Business Administration, from Salve Regina University.
