Keeping chickens has been a hobby on the rise for the past decade — and celebrities are no exception to this trend. Here are some of our favorite celeb chicken keepers.

Meghan Markle & Prince Harry

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex keep chickens in a coop charmingly labeled “Archie’s Chick Inn,” which they shared in their interview with Oprah in 2021.

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore has long been known as a nature loving, self-declared hippie. But in 2021, she told Romper she’d begun keeping chickens during the pandemic.

Gisele Bündchen & Tom Brady

Bündchen describes herself as a “child of nature,” and has shared this side-by-side picture of her cuddling a chicken as a little girl and her daughter doing the same. She says it’s important to her that her kids have an ongoing connection with nature.

Nicole Richie

Richie’s chicken coop is so glamorous it actually made it into the pages of Architectural Digest. “They are the easiest animals to take care of," she told the magazine, "they are so much fun for kids, and they just give me beautiful colored eggs every day.”

Serena Williams & Alexis Ohanian

Ohanian posted pictures of the family chickens on his Instagram account in March 2021, noting that daughter Olympia named them: Bum Bum, Chickaletta, Minnie, and Daisy.

Geri Halliwell

Halliwell lives on a farm in Oxfordshire where she keeps chickens and other animals. Her favorite is a cuddly girl named, what else, Ginger. “A lot of Gingers get to be the favorite, don’t they?” she notes cheekily.

Jennifer Garner

Garner is a self-proclaimed “Chicken Lady” with a penchant for naming her flock with celebrity pun names (like Oprah Henfry and Ellen DeHeneres) and even decorates their coop for Christmas.

Kelis

In 2019, the singer became a co-owner of Bounty Farm in Colombia where she raises animals and crops with an eye toward sustainability and connection to food. Farming is not her hobby: her chickens are raised both for their eggs and their meat.

Ed Sheeran

Sheeran lives on what The Sun describes as a “sprawling rural estate” in England where he keeps a flock of chickens. Unfortunately, the outlet reports, he also lost several to a roving fox.

Kelly Clarkson

Clarkson keeps chickens on a ranch in Montana and is the namesake of Jennifer Garner’s “Kelly Cluckson.” Clarkson requested “her” chicken be “the craziest chicken in the coop.”
