The holiday season tends to invoke a sense of urgency and — if your littles have a growing list and you have a shrinking amount of shopping time — perhaps a bit of impending doom for parents everywhere. This year, that may ring more true than ever, with household budgets reduced and time feeling pretty non-construct in general.

It doesn’t mean all hope is lost. Quite the opposite, in fact. Remember that your kiddos themselves have perma-radar when it comes to the things on their wish lists, and that Walmart has you covered in terms of quality, availability, and price. So ask for their lists, and check them twice. It’s guaranteed that they will include everything from stocking stuffers to gifts small and (very) large, and everything in between.

To get the wheels turning, we asked kids to answer the question, “What do you want for the holidays this year?” Here’s what real kids are saying they’re in hot pursuit of this holiday season.

The Cutest (And Best) Dollhouse Out There

The Barbie Dream House has always been the biggest dream for Nora L., who says excitedly, “If I get one, I am moving in with my Barbies and Kens because it’s gigantic!” She hopes to arrange and rearrange things, day after imaginative day. And there’s no doubt that this classic has withstood the test of time, fulfilling holiday dreams for decades. Pool, slide, and elevator? We’d move in, too!

This Turntable That's Perfect For Kids

Ellie B.’s holiday wish is filled with nostalgia as she craves a new way to enjoy favorite tunes. She says, “I grew up listening to my parents’ and Grandma’s favorite records on the turntable. They always had them on! I want to grow my record collection and play them the old way.”

A Camera That Isn't Attached To A Phone

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe that’s true! “Mom took funny pictures we could see right away at our beach vacation and I want to be able to do that too without waiting,” says Henry B., of the Fuji Instax. And it’s true — she did take lots of instant pics, and they continue to be the family’s favorite snaps!

The Latest & Greatest Electric Scooter

If, like Ethan S., your kid's biggest wish is to fly like a superhero, then this electric scooter is a no-brainer. The easy-to-ride scooter boasts an all-steel frame, and it comes complete with rear-wheel drive that apportions greater weight to the rear, which is a fancy way of saying it has great traction and ease of steering.

A Versatile Way To Display Their Favorite Photos

Lauren Q. says that she and her friends are constantly taking new photos together and of one another. (Remember those days?) She wants a digital picture frame in her room to admire their latest, because regular frames and printed photos are “so dated.” Fair enough.

The VR Headset On Everyone's Wish List

Oliver B. doesn’t know if Santa can make it happen, but he says he’s been dreaming about a VR headset since he first heard about them. The chance to fly into outer space and get chased by dinosaurs on the same day? Yes, please.

A Laptop That's All Theirs

Abby H. would like a Chromebook to call her own. A school-issued device is a great option, but can be cumbersome for both parent and child to take back and forth to school on hybrid and in-person learning days. Abby says she wants a learning space at home that she can decorate and make her own.

This Fun & Affordable Classic Toy Oven

Caitlyn F. shares that her mom had an Easy-Bake Oven growing up and that she never followed the directions, so the goodies never came out right. She wants to try for herself, especially because she’s not allowed to use the “real” oven, but is ready to explore baking.

Whatever your loved ones are into this year, remember that your gifting options are available for less at retailers like Walmart. Get an idea of what they want, and get ahead on your shopping list (without blowing your budget). Merry everything!
