Independence Day. Though most equate it with barbecues and fireworks, one thing that comes to mind for me are blowout sales. Though you won't usually find me shopping much during the weekend, seeing which stores are having sales this year have made me reconsider carving out some time to hit the mall and stock up on must-need items. I actually think shopping during the summer holidays are the best time to start your Christmas shopping, because you can get things to use for next spring or summer. I also think it's a good time to stock up on your fall and winter wear since they will be largely marked down from the previous season. Similarly, 4th of July sales are also a great time to find a few things for the back to school season.
