16 Tweets That Prove Chrissy Teigen Will Be A Feminist Mom
Author and model Chrissy Teigen has been keeping it sassy on Twitter for years now, and her recent motherhood status hasn't slowed her down — in fact, I think it's made her even better. Teigen has (very successfully) harnessed Twitter as a platform to speak out about women's issues and hit back at haters. Baby Luna might still be a bit young to fully understand her mom's lessons, but I've rounded up 16 tweets that prove why Teigen will be an awesome feminist mom to baby Luna as she grows up.
First, though, I'd like to set you up with Teigen's definition of feminism. Speaking to The Huffington Post in 2014, Teigen said she definitely identified as a feminist, adding (in a candid tone she's become well known for):
If you add husband John Legend's views on feminism to that, you'll see why Luna's going to be growing up in a very empowering household. "[John]’s a bigger feminist than I am!" Teigen said in that same Huffington Post interview. "He would always explain to me that there are so many different ways to be a strong woman."
Judging by Teigen and Legend's views on feminism, there's no doubt that little Luna will be allowed to grow into whatever kind of woman she wishes. But before she does, she'll probably get a dose of her mama's very real — and very empowering — feminism, as witnessed in the next few situations (both light-hearted and less so).
She's Open, Body-Positive, & Honest

so next time you pass a Forever 21, remember the fact that they are a bunch of assholes who fired me mid-makeup for being fat.— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) August 5, 2012
@Sandria_1 no! You have your body and it's you and perfect— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) June 30, 2015
In what other real life situation would you walk up to someone and tell them they're fat or gained weight? Seriously you are POS.— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) April 25, 2014
cooking food and eating food doesn't magically equal fat. don't be ashamed to cook and eat! https://t.co/hmwiEZSDAR— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) August 30, 2015
If Teigen can confidently talk periods, self-acceptance, and #FreeTheNipple on a massive social platform, she's going to be the bomb at raising a self-confident, body-positive daughter.
She Believes in Respecting Other Women's Choices
anyhow I am not mad at anyone's beliefs but I don't really actively seek out people to make them feel bad about their decisions either.— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) February 24, 2016
natural or ivf, my daughter will never speak to another human like this, @baby_c_69 pic.twitter.com/aLfBS8O3eF— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) February 24, 2016

Teigen is going to crush that period talk when it comes around, and with her ease of making... well, normal things normal, her kids won't grow up feeling awkward about it all.
She Doesn't Stand For Sexist Shaming — & Neither Does Legend
I love that I am blamed for this despite doing nothing in this story https://t.co/ftwNc3EoaF— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) March 10, 2016
I went to dinner. People are pissed. Good morning! pic.twitter.com/oQ54mtet8c— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) April 24, 2016
Funny there's no dad-shaming. When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn't have to take it all. We'll split it.— John Legend (@johnlegend) May 11, 2016
if you wanna give me unsolicited baby advice on the damn cereal I eat/what I wear u better unlock your profile so I can see your perfection— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) October 29, 2015
She Defends Women's Right To Choose
Every time shit like this happens, john and I immediately make another donation to planned parenthood.— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) November 27, 2015

After the Planned Parenthood shooting in Colorado Springs last year, Teigen instantly showed her support on Twitter — despite plenty of political and public disagreement over it.
Teigen's ability to combat a range of women's issues directly, honestly, and with an amazing amount of humor is enviable, and Luna will be lucky to be on the receiving end of Teigen's awesome attitude toward life. Even better? Luna will have Teigen as a mother and role model — and seeing Teigen slay every day seems like the best possible preparation a future feminist could ask for.
