5 Moms Share The 1 Product They *Always* Buy In Bulk

by Hannah Selinger

Hello, fellow mom shoppers! If you, like me, are always looking for ways to save money and to keep your household on budget, then you probably already know what I am about to tell you: Buying in bulk is the key to mom survival.

Since becoming a mom, I've relied on retailers that sell diapers, daycare snacks, and "oops I forgot" last-minute gifts in bulk. Keeping these everyday essentials on-hand has saved this shopper's life time and again. As for my wallet? Let's just say it's a lot fatter thanks to bulk shopping.

It's not just about cost, of course; I'm constantly in search of quality products that are available in bulk, which makes life easier for me and my entire family.

Now, I'm not the only mom on board with the bulk retail lifestyle. In my quest to learn more about the best bulk items on the market, I crowdsourced my fellow moms. What were their favorite items? Why did they like them so much? What was it that kept them coming back to the aisles of Costco again and again? One thing my crowdsourcing revealed: Bulk shopping has a huge mom following, full of enthusiastic shoppers happy to share their stories. Here's a curated list of the best things the moms I spoke to wanted the world to know about. Thanks, moms, for sharing your stories.

1

Huggies® Plus Little Movers Diapers

Brianna, 34, has nothing but enthusiasm for her Huggies® Plus Little Movers, which are available exclusively at Costco. "We used to use a different brand, but had tons of blowouts with them, so I switched to Huggies® around 5 months. They never leak and we haven't had a blowout since!" With her must-have Costoco membership in tow, this diaper convert is never going back to any other brand.

2

Kirkland Organic Granola Bars

For Kelley, 35, Kirkland brand granola bars are where it's at. "It's great for teething or general snacking," she says. "It's all organic, with no sugar added. I love to keep some in the diaper bag, as it makes a great snack for her and for me. It keeps us both from getting cranky!" With 64 bars to a package, you won't find yourself making weekly trips to the grocery store to restock on snacks, either.

3

Organic Whole Milk

"Organic whole milk!" Bri says, enthusiastically, of her favorite buy-in-bulk product. At Costco, it comes in three-packs, plus the organic designation means you don't have to worry about growth hormones in your milk, which is something that many moms like me take super seriously. Buy these packs for the convenience alone, but also know this: Per half-gallon, these containers of milk come in well under what you'll pay at your conventional grocery store.

4

Kirkland Signature Cage-Free Liquid Egg Whites

Amy, 43, swears by Costco's signature brand of egg whites, which, she says, are, "super cheap and high-protein." You can use them for everything from baking replacements to quick omelets in the mornings for the kiddos. No muss, no fuss, no eggshells! Of course, these egg whites are adult-friendly, too, and that's part of what makes them so great.

5

Kirkland Signature Organic Applesauce Pouches

More than a few moms recommended these portable snacks, with one anonymous mom saying, "I could go on and on." What's so great about them? First of all, they're a guaranteed helping of fruit (and anyone raising a toddler knows that getting produce into a toddler diet can feel impossible), they're shelf-stable, and they can be re-closed, in case your little one change his or her mind. Throw a few in your bag and you'll always have snacks ready when you need them.
