by Lindsay E. Mack

What's in a name? Well, for some parents it's all about the expression of individuality, and thanks to the internet, it's easier than ever to find a name that's as fresh and unique or classic and familiar as you want it to be, almost instantly. If you're you're expecting a little girl of your own soon, and still in need of a name for her, this list of the most unique girls names of 2017 that you’ve probably never heard of might inspire your kid's future moniker.

As the recently released Baby Center's list of unique baby names for 2017 reveals (compiled from a list of 500,000 entries from parents who had a baby in 2017), name inspiration can come from vastly different time periods, languages, and counties of origin.
