This New Toy Could Improve Your Orgasm During Sex

Unless you've been living under a rock, you may have recently heard rumblings about a magical (and ancient) device that is said to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, help you recapture your femininity, and improve your orgasms. It is known as the jade egg, or yoni egg, and women across the world are falling in love with this little egg that is said to be an improvement on tired old Kegel exercises. But is all the hype really true? Can using an egg improve your orgasm during sex?

According to Goop, the Gwyneth Paltrow-led site that may be responsible for the resurgence of this ancient Chinese practice, there are many benefits of using a jade egg, like helping cultivate sexual energy, increasing orgasms, balancing the cycle, preventing uterine prolapse, increasing control of the whole perineum and bladder, intensifying feminine energy, and more. The jade stone is said to increase sexual potency as well as take away negativity, which is why its great for cleansing and detox. But is it actually all that great for your sex life?

According to Perth Now, an Australian newspaper, yoni eggs may just be the secret to mind-blowing orgasms both alone and with your partner.

For those who aren't fully sure what the eggs and hype is all about, yoni eggs are polished semi-precious stones (traditionally made of jade) that are inserted into the vagina in order to tone and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, according to the aforementioned Perth Now article. Lovers of the egg claim that it will not only help you physically, but also emotionally and spiritually as well.

According to Secrets of Jade, a website founded in 2013 as a resource for women interested in yoni eggs, the jade egg helps orgasms by increasing their power, heightening the responsiveness of the G-spot, increasing a woman's potential of becoming multi-orgasmic and ejaculating, and improving the dexterity of your "lady muscles."

Women who have tried the jade egg seem to mostly report positive results, such as the aforementioned Secrets of Jade article which explains experiencing mind-blowing orgasms with her partner thanks to being able to "squeeze much better" during intercourse. Similarly, the aforementioned Perth Now article mentions women who were able to reconnect with their bodies after using the jade egg.

"Sexually I have been feeling safer, more aware of my real feelings and desires, able to communicate better than ever with my partner," reader Mikayla told Perth Now. "I am able to instigate sex and I am able to stay present and in my body throughout sex. I am connected. Plugged in and aware, feeling deeper and allowing myself to feel and to heal."

However, it's not all sunshine and better orgasms. According to CNN, health experts say you should stay away from the jade egg.

"You want to contract and relax, not have [your muscles] contract continually," OB-GYN Dr. Jen Gunter, told CNN. "Contracting constantly is like doing half of a bicep curl and not finishing it — that's not how you work on a muscle."

Yet some women still swear by it. According to Elite Daily, using the yoni egg helped one woman improve her posture, tighten her lower abs, helped her sit up straight, eased her menstrual cramps, and relieved stress and anxiety. And with so many women claiming that the jade egg truly has improved their sex lives, it's almost impossible to not give it a try.
