Chip & Joanna Gaines Are Selling T-Shirts Benefitting Hurricane Victims

This past week, many celebrities, including Chip and Joanna Gaines, lent their support to the countless Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey. Chip and Joanna have built their lives in Waco, Texas, so the devastation caused by the Category 4 storm is especially personal to them and their loved ones. In an effort to help the people of their beloved home state, Chip and Joanna are selling "Texas Forever" t-shirts to aid relief efforts. The best part? 100 percent of the proceeds will go to "restoring the homes and lives" of affected Texans, according to Country Living.

On Tuesday, Texas' popular Magnolia Market (which is owned by Chip and Joanna) announced its intention to donate the proceeds of its popular "Texas Forever" t-shirts to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The message said, according to TODAY:

Texas - we will always have your back. From now until the end of September, 100% of the proceeds from our "Texas Forever" shirts will go toward restoring homes and lives in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. This undertaking is not too big for us if we are all in. Let's help restore these towns together.

Although the announcement was short and to the point, its emotional sentiment struck a nerve with fans. In a matter of days, the t-shirts, which retail for $26, completely sold out. Chip went on to reveal that as of Wednesday, Magnolia Market had sold a whopping 35,000 shirts, according to She Knows. If you're not a math whiz, that comes out to about $91,000 in relief aid.

In response to the overwhelming support from fans, Joanna wrote, according to AOL:

Last night we announced that 100% of the proceeds from @magnolia's Texas Forever shirts that are purchased between now and September 30th will be donated to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. There has already been an overwhelming response and we couldn’t be more thankful. Please be patient with us as we are working to get each and every shirt out as quickly as possible! Thank you all for jumping in - there’s just something special about coming together to help neighbors in need. ❤️

Following Joanna's message, the t-shirts were restocked on Thursday. Fans can now purchase "Texas Forever" t-shirts directly from Magnolia Market's website.

It goes without saying that this past week has been unbelievably difficult for the state of Texas. In these trying times, Texans shouldn't have to worry about financial expenses and the cost of rebuilding efforts. Chip and Joanna have set an important example by donating the proceeds of their Texas Forever" t-shirts to the victims of Hurricane Harvey, and more celebrities should follow their lead.
