Chrissy Teigen Is Over The "Baby John" Fad

by Korey Lane

2017 has been a roller coaster of a year, hasn't it? From a reality television star moving into the White House to George Clooney becoming a father, nothing has really been making a whole lot of sense lately. Except the one constant we can all count on: that Chrissy Teigen remains the unofficial reigning Queen of Twitter. From her semi-erotic photos and videos of her cooking masterpieces, to her epic clap-backs at trolls, Teigen has taken the social media platform by storm. And now, she's done it again. Because Chrissy Teigen has a message for people sending her "baby John" photos, and it's seriously hilarious.

As you may or may not know, Teigen is married to a little-known singer named John Legend. The two have been together for years, and have brought the perfect human specimen, baby Luna Legend, into the world. But lately, Twitter users can't help but compare John to other babies on the internet, and it's kind of uncanny how similar the two are. Seriously. There are a lot of John Legend dopplegänger babies out there. But, Teigen is kind of sick of it. "John looks like a baby," she explained via Twitter, so obviously a lot of babies will look like him.

Totally understandable, Chrissy, but is it okay if we laugh at the photos just a little bit longer?

So, in the interest of knowing all the facts, Legend is 38 years old, and only has one child, little Luna. But that doesn't mean these adorable little guys don't share a very striking resemblance to the Grammy-winning singer.

Twitter user @MrMenziN was seemingly the first to notice the phenomenon, creating a thread of Tweets with other users adding photos of John Legend baby lookalikes.

For his part, Legend has echoed Teigen's sentiment, retweeting a tweet reading, "I think the reason all these babies look like John Legend might be that John Legend looks like a baby," with the simple added comment: "Exactly."

Obviously, Teigen has had enough of the trend, but it's still pretty funny. Although, if you're going to get in on the Twitter thread, maybe don't tag Teigen in it. Clearly, she's aware of the craze and doesn't find it that amusing. And you know what? That's fine. The model, mom, and cookbook author already has a lot going on in her life, and if she doesn't want to spend her time looking at another John Legend baby, that's totally understandable.
