Chrissy Teigen Pays Off Student's Beauty School Tuition

Chrissy Teigen is one of those celebrities you feel like you know. You can see yourself getting brunch, ordering a couple of mimosas, and venting about your problems together. Teigen's candid presence on social media is one of the many reasons she lands on everybody's dream BFFs lists. She's never afraid to share her opinion on anything. Her openness is what makes us feel like we know and love the 31-year-old model personally. It turns out, though, that Teigen experiences this phenomenon, too. After watching social media skin care guru Mercedes Edney hustle to build her brand online, Teigen decided to pay off her beauty school tuition. If you thought it was impossible to love Chrissy Teigen even more, prepare yourself to be proven wrong.

Edney launched a YouCaring crowdfunding page to help her pay for tuition to attend the Academy of Nail Technology & Esthetics. She wrote that her goal, as always, was to "further my skin care knowledge by getting my license in esthetics," but financial aid and scholarships weren’t available. The grand total of tuition, enrollment fees, supplies and books came out to be $5995. Edney had started to raise a couple hundred dollars, with donors leaving encouraging comments for the aspiring esthetician. Once Teigen caught wind of Edney's crowdfunding page, she donated the remaining $5,605.

After receiving Teigen's extremely generous donation, Edney immediately registered for esthetician school. She took to her Instagram account to share her excitement and gratitude to everybody who donated to her YouCaring page. She gave a special shoutout to one donor in particular, writing in the caption of a photo featuring the receipt for her down payment:

Many of you know how much I love skin care and my plans to attend esthetician school next month. Last night I posted my tuition fundraiser on twitter and something I never [sic] in my wildest dreams happened: @chrissyteigen donated my entire tuition money for school. I have been crying all night and I cried in the office this morning as I paid my downpayment for esthetician school. I haven't been this happy in a very long time. Thank you Chrissy and thank you to everyone else who voted or rtd my link or have supported me this entire time. It means more to me than you'll ever know.

Edney included a few additional pictures in her post, as well, including a screen shot of Teigen's contribution to her crowdfunding page. The model donated under her full name Christine Teigen and included a sweet note for Edney. “I’ve seen this be your passion for such a long time now,” Teigen wrote alongside her donation. “So excited to see you fulfill your dream!”

Teigen has not yet made an official comment on her altruistic ways, but given her previous acts of kindness, it's safe to say she's made the shortlist for "Celeb of the Year." Perhaps more importantly, Edney's genuine passion for her career is taking center stage in this heartwarming story of women helping other women — and onlookers can't wait to see how far she goes with the amazing gift.
