Charo Proves Age Is Just A Number On 'DWTS'

There's a reason ABC calls its highly popular dancing competition Dancing With the Stars — it's because it's full of, well, stars! And Season 24 is already proving to contain a memorable bunch of Hollywood's finest. But while Simone Biles and Rashad Jennings obtained the highest scores of last Monday's big premiere, Charo made sure her ballroom debut was just as memorable. But how old is Charo on Dancing With the Stars? The iconic performer is actually the oldest competitor of the season, though, judging from her energy-fueled dance number, she's clearly going to prove that age really is just a number.

Charo is currently 66 years old and came out performing a salsa number with her dancing pro partner Keoikantse Motsepe. As per usual, the actress/comedian was all sorts of entertaining and became instantly memorable by starting a small feud with judge Bruno Tonioli after her gave her a few unwanted critiques about her performance. She ended up being the second to last low scorer of the night, beating Chris Kattan's 17 with a score of 21. However, it should be noted that this is just the very beginning of the season, so as long as the votes keep coming in her favor, Charo could definitely stay in the running long enough and obtain enough practice to give those scores a helpful boost.

It's certainly not a lack of energy that she's bringing to the dance floor though, but rather just getting the technical details right. (Plus, I always tend to find that the judges score more harshly at the beginning for some reason, or is that just me?) Either way, she may be the oldest competitor, but she certainly seems to have no intention of it holding her back.

Speaking of not being held back, Charo also isn't holding back on any punches regarding her current feelings toward Bruno. During a recent interview with E!, Charo gave a warning to the Dancing With the Stars judge. "I've got a message for Bruno: If he wants to be alive for his next birthday, you better give me bigger numbers. Bigger! I'm watching you," she stated. "We already have a controversy. Because I am the queen of the cuchi-cuchi, OK? Don't mess with me because, Bruno, I look at you."

Suffice to say, she's definitely going to keep this season interesting and I personally can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
