How To Rewatch ABC's Special 'When We Rise'

by Zakiya Jamal

When We Rise is ABC's new miniseries by Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black. The show follows the personal and political struggles, set-backs, and triumphs of a diverse family of LGBT men and women during the gay rights movement, beginning with the Stonewall Riots in 1969. The series is said to be both moving and inspiring and definitely not one to miss. However, in case you can't see it when it airs, here's how to rewatch When We Rise, so you don't miss out on learning about such an important topic.

The multi-day special premieres on Monday, Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC and will continue to air throughout the week with two-hour installments each on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday starting at the same time, so you don't want to fall behind. If you miss the first day, you'll be able to find the premiere episode on ABC's website the following day, however, you'll more than likely need a cable subscription to watch it as per usual. As with most ABC shows, you need to verify your cable subscription before you can watch new episodes.

If you don't have cable, you can also find the series premiere on Hulu on Feb. 28. All you need is access to a Hulu subscription for that one. If you don't have a subscription you can always do their one week free trial, which is all you need to watch the miniseries. Just be warned, you may get hooked on Hulu and not want to cancel when your free week is over.

But no matter how you watch it, you definitely don't want to miss out on this incredible event. This story, while historical, is still very relevant today and there's no doubt people will be talking about it for a while after it airs. To be a part of the conversation, though, you have to watch it, so don't miss out.

Besides Black's incredible storytelling, the series also has an incredible all-star cast, which includes the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, Guy Pearce, Mary-Louise Parker, Rachel Griffiths, and Michael Kenneth Williams, just to name a few. With a cast this good, you know the show is bound to be amazing.

Make sure you tune into ABC when the series kicks off on Monday, Feb. 27 to check it out or watch it online the very next day. You don't want to be left in the dark on such an important issue.
