Your zodiac sign can give all kinds of insight into your personality — and your relationships. You can learn just as much about your relationships with family members, friends, coworkers and the like as you can about your romantic relationships. Knowing which of your personality traits might be influenced by your zodiac sign can give you a look into the success or failure of those relationships, as well. You might want to know if you and your partner are compatible, for instance, or maybe how you're mostly likely to lose friends, based on your zodiac sign.
Gaining a better understanding of the parts of your personality that could cause a rift between you and your friends or even cause you to lose a friendship or two altogether can, of course, be done through some self-reflection, but you could also just consult your zodiac sign to point you in the right direction. It can be difficult to own up to the parts of yourself that maybe aren't the parts of which you're most proud, but it's really important when it comes to making relationships — platonic friendships, familial, or romantic — work. Knowing your weaknesses and potential pitfalls can be the first step in helping you avoid disaster, after all. When it comes to losing friendships, things can get ugly.
1Aries (March 21-April 19)
If you're an Aries, one of your worst traits is that you tend to be bossy and pushy, according to Your Tango. Friends tend not to appreciate that so much from other friends, especially if it happens all the time. At some point, people won't want to be pushed anymore, so if you can't let up on it sometimes, you might find yourself with fewer friends.
2Taurus (April 20-May 20)
A Taurus can be stubborn and unwilling to compromise, which can sometimes make it difficult to be friends with them. When it's your way or the highway, it can get tiring for those around you. Sometimes your friends want you to be able to go along with what they think or want to do, even if it's not exactly what you want to do, OK?
3Gemini (May 21-June 20)
As anyone who's friends with someone, like a Gemini, who can be indecisive and inconsistent, it can sometimes get frustrating to make plans with them. Everyone has their moments when they hesitate and aren't quite sure what choice to make, but if you can't even make relatively low-risk decisions without agonizing over them first, after a while, that can get old.
4Cancer (June 21-July 22)
There are a few things that could contribute to a Cancer losing friends, unfortunately. Cancers can sometimes be manipulative, insecure, and even suspicious, all of which can take a toll on friendships. For the most part, people don't like being manipulated, they don't like to have to constantly reassure you about every little thing, and they don't want to have to constantly defend themselves against your not-so-great suspicions that something's wrong, especially if it's not.
5Leo (July 23-August 22)
Leos like to be the center of attention. They don't like when others are the focal point — they want it to be mostly all about them. That can weigh on friends who sometimes want to focus on someone or something that isn't them. If your friends don't think they can ever celebrate or commiserate about what's going on in their life with you, they might not stick around very long.
6Virgo (August 23-September 22)
For a Virgo, who can be very critical of themselves and their friends, co-workers, and family members, things can get complicated within their relationships if they're not able to keep some of those criticisms to themselves. Just like no one wants to constantly reassure you that you're being too hard on yourself, they don't want to constantly hear about their own short-comings, either. Getting down on your friends for every little thing is a sure-fire way to send them running.
7Libra (September 23-October 22)
For Libras, after there's an argument or disagreement or they feel as though they've been slighted or betrayed, those feelings of anger, annoyance, and betrayal can linger. Libras tend to hold grudges, which can make friendships with them difficult. It can be hard to let go of things even after the situation has been "resolved," which can wear on friends unsure of what else they can or should do to repair the relationship.
8Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
If you're a Scorpio, you might find that you have some trouble within relationships from time to time (though, who doesn't, really?). Scorpios can get a little bit jealous sometimes, as well as try to control the people and situations around them. Both of these tendencies can be difficult on their friends, partners, and family members because jealousy, manipulation, and secrecy can all get old very quickly.
9Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
For a Sagittarius, who can be blunt, overconfident, and impatient, the give and take of a solid friendship can be difficult. If you friends are worried that you'll say anything, no matter how much it might hurt them or that you'll spend all of your time together bragging about your life, abilities, and accomplishments, they probably won't want to spend a lot of time sticking around.
10Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
Capricorns can be know-it-alls, which is off-putting to some friends. Moreover, they can also be condescending and slow to forgive. Each of these characteristics can push friends away. No one wants to be constantly told that they don't know anything, nor do they want to feel as though if they do make a mistake they'll never be forgiven for it.
11Aquarius (January 20-February 18)
If you're an Aquarius, you can sometimes be unpredictable and distant. Though you like to help those in your life, you don't have time for a ton of emotion, which can be difficult for people who simply need to express emotions in a given situation. While your friends may not feel like they need to always know what you're going to do even before you do it, too much unpredictability and spontaneity can feel overwhelming, which can take a real toll on friendships. Friendships shouldn't feel like a roller coaster.
12Pisces (February 19-March 20)
If you're a Pisces, you might play the victim at times. Not only that, but it can be difficult for you to remember to take care of yourself or stay positive, which in turn affects how you interact with your friends, family members, and partner. If everyone in your life feels as though they constantly have to lift you up, to make sure that you don't see things too negatively, or to coddle you, at some point, they might get tired of doing so and stop making the effort, which means, unfortunately, that some friendship might be lost forever.
