Here's What Everyone's Favorite 'Toddlers & Tiaras' Star Honey Boo Boo Looks Like Now

by Casey Suglia

In 2012, the world was introduced to a young pageant queen who they could never forget — Honey Boo Boo Child, or Alana Thompson. After the little beauty queen made her debut on TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras, when she was just 6 years old, she gained instant viral fame — and her own TV show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. But, just five years later, what does Honey Boo Boo look like now?

She's not the same tot you might remember from that great episode, but she's now a pre-teen who turned 12 years old this past August. Do you feel old yet? As a kid, Alana entertained audiences with her outgoing personality, fun family, and coupon queen mother, "Mama" June Shannon. For a while, it seemed like Alana and her incredibly fun catch phrases (who can forget "A dolla make me holla"? ) was everywhere. But since Here Comes Honey Boo Boo went off the air in 2014, Alana has been a little quieter, choosing to live her life as a normal kid and not a reality TV star — and who can blame her?

But with her mom's new TV show, Mama June: From Not to Hot airing on WE TV, Alana has been back in the spotlight. But the way that she looks now shouldn't be too surprising. She looks like any other 12 year old girl. The photos, shared to her mom's Instagram and Facebook page show just how grown up Alana has become.

Since Shannon's show was picked up for a second season earlier this year, Alana has emerged back into the spotlight. Because of this, Shannon has been giving those diehard Honey Boo Boo fans glimpses into Alana's life. Since losing 300 pounds, Shannon told People that she is determined to keep off the weight and live a healthy lifestyle — and has inspired Alana to do the same. Shannon told People that Alana has lost 7 pounds since Shannon got into shape. In April, according to E! News, Alana told ABC News that the food in their house has changed and everything is "mostly healthy," in spite of her originally being reluctant to do so. "I like my curves," Alana said during an episode of Mama June: From Not to Hot last year, according to Us Weekly.

But the food isn't the only thing that has changed in the Shannon household. Alana no longer does pageants and is now an aunt after one of her sisters, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon gave birth to a daughter earlier this month. Last year, Alana made an appearance on Oprah's Where Are They Now? series, talking about her life after her show got cancelled. Alana said on the show that when Here Comes Honey Boo Boo got canceled she was both a little sad and happy that it was ending, according to E! News.

And on the same Where Are They Now? episode, Shannon also revealed that before the show aired, the family was struggling to make ends meet, but Here Comes Honey Boo Boo helped the family with that. Although she is still frugal as ever and refuses to give up the Coupon Queen title.

Luckily, for everyone who has missed seeing Honey Boo Boo on their TV, they can keep up with her on the new season of Mama June: From Hot To Not which airs in January. In this new season, according to People, Alana will serve as a pageant coach for her mom who even enters an adult pageant in one episode. Talk about how the tables have turned.

In 2018, you can look forward to seeing (a grown up) Alana on your screen a little bit more than usual after she took a pretty big absence. And that doesn't sound too bad at all.
