Blake E. was one of the first contestants we met on Rachel's season of The Bachelorette in an unprecedented preview of her suitors during Nick Viall's "After the Final Rose" special. He was unfortunately one of the more awkward guys in the bunch and things only got worse once he moved into the mansion. His ~feud~ with Lucas reeked so badly of impending drama that Rachel sent them both home in Week 3. So what is Blake E. doing now after The Bachelorette? Unsurprisingly, he still hasn't made it as a drummer yet.
From the looks of his Instagram, Blake is back at work as a personal trainer and dietician, hitting the gym and posting shirtless "I'm just a poor single guy looking for love!" captions. Since his final moments on the show were spent getting screamed at by Lucas about his failed career as a trainer, Blake may just be trying to demonstrate his career is alive and kicking. He even showed off before and after photos of one of his successful body-building clients, whom he took from amateur status to competition physique in 30 weeks. Needless to say, Blake would like everyone to know that he has a very real job and no less than three qualifications, including a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Florida State University, a certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a certification as a Sports Nutrition Specialist. He may be an aspiring drummer, but he is very much employed!
Unfortunately, not even a robust career could get Blake E. past the second rose ceremony. During that evening's cocktail party, Lucas told a bizarre story about how he found Blake watching him sleep in the middle of the night while eating a banana. His biggest mistake was thinking that weaving in some pretty obviously homophobic overtones would work on Rachel. (She didn't take the bait, obviously.) Blake set the record straight by pointing out that his very strict diet doesn't allow him to eat carbs, so he couldn't possibly have been eating a banana, which is either the best excuse in Bachelorette history or the worst one.
In any case, Rachel couldn't handle Lucas and Blake's feud overshadowing her search for love, so she sent both of them home, ending in a predictable brawl by the fountain after they walked out of the house. At least Blake seems to have bounced back to his normal life in LA. Hopefully, he'll never have to hear another Whaboom as long as he lives.
