For me, Thanksgiving is about family, food, and football, but the cherry on top is always the great Black Friday deals that come my way, just in time for holiday shopping. One of the most popular Black Friday stops is Walmart due to its great deals and range of products. So no matter who you are shopping for, you are bound to find the perfect gift at a good price. But with all the stores shifting around their store hours, you may wonder, what time does Walmart open on Black Friday 2017?

Some Black Friday ads can seem like a puzzle when it comes to store hours and sales, but Walmart’s store timings this year are pretty simple. On Thanksgiving Day, Walmart stores will open at 6 p.m. nationwide, and their online sales will be available even earlier that day, at 12:01 a.m. specifically. So if you’re planning on hitting the store that Thursday, plan your turkey lunch or dinner well before or after 6 p.m.

It’s not surprising that Walmart draws huge crowds on Black Friday, because some of their deals are just too good to pass up. Purchases like televisions are always a popular buy at Walmart on Black Friday, considering they are usually at the lowest prices of the year, and many people wait until Thanksgiving to upgrade. This year, Walmart’s best TV deals are the Element 39" Class Smart TV, $125 which is $66 off, and a Sharp 55" Class 4K Smart TV, $298 that is $50 off its normal price. These are smart TVs, so they come with things like Netflix and Hulu built in, but if you are just looking to turn your own regular TV into a smart one, they will have a Google Chromecast, $20 and Roku 4K Streaming Stick, $48 available for Black Friday.

If you are planning on shopping for little ones, Walmart has a bunch of great deals on toys. They have so many toys that are under $5, you just can’t pass them up, including Barbie or Monster High Dolls, Disney Fashion Dolls, and select games like Clue, Connect 4, and Gone Fishin’. They also will have the always adorable Tickle Me Elmo, $15, a fully assembled 18-Piece Spark Kitchen, $15, and an 8-inch Star Wars The Force Awakens RC BB-8 with Remote, $30 which is at half price.

You can even pick up some baby gear at great prices, including this Disney Walker and Bouncer Bundle Set, $60 or select Fisher Price Infant Toys, $5. If you’re looking to stock up on warm pajamas for the kids, Walmart will have Boys' and Girls' Character Sleep Sets, $4 and Boys' and Girls' One Piece Sleepwear, $8. They even have great deals on basic essentials for kids, like Boys' 5-pack Character Underwear, $5, Girls' 7-pack Character Underwear, $5, and Boys' or Girls' 10-pack of No Show Socks, $3.

For moms and dads, Walmart has some really great deals on essentials, including these warm and cuddly Women’s Fleece Pajama sets, $10 and amazingly priced Riders Denim Jeggings, $10. For the men, these completely practical Men’s Fruit of the Loom Sleep Pants, $4 and relaxed fit Men’s Wrangler Jeans, $10 can't be beat. At such low prices, these basics can make really good stocking stuffers for any adult on your holiday shopping list.

Walmart has a range of great deals on things you can’t fit in your stocking, but can definitely use for your home, too. They have an amazing sale on a Dyson DC59 Stick Vacuum, $189, which is a cordless vacuum that can be used in multiple ways. You will even find an airfryer for under $40, Farberware Digital Airfryer, $39, and other appliances for under $10, like this Crock-Pot 5-Qt Slow Cooker, an Oster 8-Speed Blender, and a Farberware Griddle.

So whether you’re getting your head start on holiday shopping, or just picking up essentials for yourself, Walmart has a ton of great deals to choose from. Stores will open at 6 p.m. on Thursday, but with such great deals, be prepared for large crowds and long lines. Maybe sneak in an extra slice of pie for energy, because to navigate the Black Friday madness, you’re going to need it.
