Jon Snow & Cersei Are Due For An Epic Meeting On 'Game Of Thrones'

by Zakiya Jamal

As Game of Thrones starts to come to a close, key players will finally meet, or meet again. Two characters that are due for a face-off are Jon Snow and Cersei Lannister, a showdown many fans have been waiting for. So when will Jon and Cersei meet? Fans are holding out for a meeting this season.

During the season premiere, Cersei sent a letter to Jon, requesting he go to King's Landing and bow a knee to Cersei or reap the repercussions. Jon didn't say what his response would be in the episode, but it's clear his focus remains on the Night King and preparing to face the army of the dead. Still, whether Jon wants to deal with Cersei or not, she won't wait forever for his response. If he doesn't come to King's Landing to bend a knee, she'll surely go to him, with an army in tow.

However, Cersei doesn't have the means for a battle right now, especially one in the North. Cersei's army is a summer army, as Jon pointed out. They're not equipped for a battle in the snow and cold weather. Now that Jon has become King of the North he has all the Northern houses under his command as well as the Knights of the Vale, as long as Little Finger sticks around.

Cersei would be crazy to bring the fight to Jon until she has new allies, most likely in the form of Euron. However, Euron's currently on the hunt for a "gift" for Cersei, so that probably won't happen soon. It's more likely that Jon will pay Cersei a visit, though it's doubtful he'll go to King's Landing to bow before her. Whatever the reasoning for their meeting, it's definitely happening this season.

Game of Thrones costume designer Michele Clapton let it slip that Jon will have meetings with Daenerys and Cersei this season, while discussing Jon's Northern style cape.

"There are times when we removed [the cape] because we wanted him to be more vulnerable," Clapton told Uproxx. "Especially I think, when he saw Dany, and he went to see her for the first time in her chamber. We decided to remove it, but then when he went to see Cersei, we put it on."

It's not surprising that Jon will be dressed in his most formidable clothing when he visits Cersei. She's basically responsible for the loss of almost all of his loved ones and Cersei's also pretty formidable herself. Whatever their meeting is about, it'll certainly be a tense one.
