Where Is Arya Going On 'Games Of Thrones'? She's Been Away From Home For A Long Time

by Zakiya Jamal

Ding-dong! The Waif is dead! After being tormented by the Waif since Season 5, Arya finally took her down in Sunday night's episode of Game of Thrones. Although it seemed like Arya might be doomed after the Waif found her hiding out with the actress, Lady Crane, Arya was able to make her escape. Grabbing her trusty sword, Needle, Arya killed the Waif, putting her face on the wall of Faceless Men. Then Arya said the words that we've been waiting seasons to hear: "The girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell, and I'm going home." But where is Arya going on Game of Thrones?

Based on her word choice it sounds very much like she's heading for Winterfell, which hasn't been her home for years, but is where she grew up. It's unclear how much Arya knows about what's been going down back in Westeros, but she knows enough to know that Winterfell isn't in Stark hands anymore. It hasn't been for a while now. So what exactly does Arya plan to do? She knows she can't realistically just go back to her house as if nothing has changed, but where else could she possibly be headed?

Before the Waif killed Lady Crane, she asked Arya where she would go.

"What's west of Westeros?" Arya asked.

Lady Crane admitted she didn't know, and apparently no one does because it's not even on a map. Arya said she would like to go find out, and maybe now that she's free she will. Although fans would probably be interested to see what exactly Arya would find past Westeros (Nymeria, maybe?) the truth is Arya will probably make her way to Westeros and stay there.

Whether she runs into the Hound, Brienne of Tarth, or one or more of her siblings, there's no way Arya can just pass through Westeros without meeting someone or running into some kind of issue. Plus, once she hears Sansa and Jon are trying to take back Winterfell, Arya will be even more inclined to go home.

Arya's been away from the main action for far too long, and it's time for her to take everything she's learned from her travels and time in Braavos to start crossing some names off her list. Arya's about to kick some ass.
