On Wednesday evening, Entertainment Tonight published an unearthed tape of Donald Trump making remarks about a young girl, heard for the first time in over 20 years. In the video, Trump allegedly makes an inappropriate comment about a 10-year-old girl and how he would end up dating her "10 years" from then. But who is the 10-year-old girl in the leaked Entertainment Tonight Donald Trump tape? It's not exactly clear to whom Trump was referring in the video, but regardless of her identity, his comments are very upsetting.

According to TMZ, Entertainment Tonight finally released the 24 year old footage from 1992 after looking through its archives. The video is very short, but the comments made by a then 46-year-old Trump during the video are enough for anyone to understand their severity. According to Entertainment Tonight, the video was shot in Trump Tower during a Christmas segment for the show. In the video, Trump can reportedly be heard talking to a group of young girls off camera.

"Are you going up the escalator?" Trump asks one of the young girls. Trump waits for a reply before turning to another person. "I'm going to be dating her in 10 years, can you believe it?" Trump reportedly says. It is a joke that probably should have never been a joke in the first place — and many are now arguing that it should in no way be perceived as funny. The Trump campaign did not immediately return Romper's request for comment.

Throughout the duration of the video, the camera remains on the Trump tower escalator. There are no notable or distinguishing features of anybody pictured in the video, other than Trump's voice. So if anyone was curious about the 10-year-old's identity, they're likely out of luck. Because the video does not show any faces, it is hard to determine who or where the young voice is coming from. It is unlikely that the name of the girl or her connection to Trump will ever be released — unless she were to step forward and identify herself. (For reference, the girl in question would now be around 34 years old.)

But at the end of the day, the girl's identity in this video should not matter. What matters is that Trump's alleged comment about a young girl was inappropriate and has once again stirred up more controversy for his campaign. It doesn't matter that Trump meant for the comment to be a joke, or that it was said during a time long before his political career was even a realistic idea in anyone's mind. While the girl in the video's identity might be unclear, one thing remains certain — Donald Trump's campaign is in trouble, no matter how hard his people spin this.
