It's been a long slow season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians without any news about the rumored pregnancies of two of the clan, Kylie and Khloé. This is especially frustrating since it appears that Kylie has done a Rob and disappeared from the show altogether. So why is Kylie Jenner missing from KUWTK? Well way back in February (can you remember that far back because I barely can) it was reported that the youngest of Kris Jenner's expansive brood would be leaving the show in favor of filming her own spinoff, the Life of Kylie. This could or could not have something to do with a bun that maybe exists in her oven, but that is literally all just speculation at this point.
With more social media savvy in one extraordinary fingernail than the rest of the world has in their entire bodies, Kylie has risen to become one of (if not the most) popular of the entire Kardashian brood. It's little wonder then that she got her very own spinoff. However despite her massive following and incredible popularity, it seems that the youngest Kardashian is a little more private than her siblings, and a little less keen to open up about every single thing that happens in her life. Reviews of her spinoff show agree that it's just not quite as riveting as its parent series, which doesn't shy away from some of the most serious issues the family has faced, including Caitlyn Jenner's transition and the robbery Kim Kardashian endured in Paris. Kylie's show, however, doesn't dig quite as deep.
Perhaps this is another reason that Kylie has chosen to step away from Keeping Up with the Kardashians. While that show tends to stay fairly open-book, Kylie often chooses to remain a little more closed off. If the pregnancy rumors do end up being true, this would be even more reason for a private person to stay off of a reality series. After all, nothing says "Please respect the privacy of my unborn child" less than a camera literally following you into the delivery room.
There is also the fact that Kylie constantly has a ton of stuff going on. In August, Fortune reported that her lipstick business (maybe you've heard of it) is on track to become a $1 billion business by 2022. I would just like to take this moment to remind all of you that baby girl is 20 years old. When I was 20 years old I once wept with joy at finding a $10 bill on the sidewalk. That may or may not be a 100 percent true story. I don't care what you say about how much involvement Kylie actually has with her business, building that kind of empire takes time. Perhaps she's just too busy taking over the world to appear on Keeping Up with the Kardashians anymore.
Other than these conjectures and the report from a year ago about Kylie's spinoff show, there is no official announcement about why Kylie has chosen to sit this season out for the most part. I do think that if Kylie has decided not to be on Keeping Up with the Kardashians anymore, and if she's decided to be quietly pregnant and give birth without a camera crew, then the world in general should respect that. After all, Kylie started on this show when she was around 10 years old. She was born into fame and had to figure out how to navigate it as best she could. If that means the only peak into Kylie's life we're left with is what she chooses to share on her Instagram, well so be it.
