Jaime May Face A Fate Worse Than Death On 'Game Of Thrones'

by Zakiya Jamal

Game of Thrones battles are always epic but the latest may have been the best yet. A lot went down during the fight, but what fans are most concerned with is the fate of Jaime Lannister. Will Jaime get captured on Game of Thrones or will he somehow escape Daenerys' wrath?

After losing all of her allies, the Mother of Dragons decided to attack the Lannisters, full force, with Drogon and the Dorthraki army. In summary, the Lannisters didn't stand a chance. However, Drogon was shot with one massive arrow, which forced Daenerys to land and attempt to remove it. During that time, Jaime had the foolish idea to try and kill Dany. Naturally, Drogon wasn't having that and turned his flame on him, but Bronn came just in time to push Jaime into the lake, seemingly saving both of their hides.

Still, Jaime was wearing a full suit of armor and has a hand made of gold, which will definitely weigh him down. Though most viewers agree it's unlikely Jaime will die, it's still a definite cause for concern and the massive cliffhanger has left many fans stressed. However, it might actually be better for Jaime if he just died outright, because the alternative is probably getting captured by Daenerys and she's a little upset right now.

If Jaimie gets out of this lake, Daenerys and/or her troops will probably be right there waiting for him. As Cersei's brother and lover, Jaime would make the ultimate prisoner, and this wouldn't be the first time Jaime was a prisoner of war. Ages ago, Jaime was Robb Stark's prisoner until Catelyn sent him off with Brienne in the hopes of getting her daughters back. It was during this journey that Jaime lost his hand, so he probably won't want to be held in captivity again.

Though Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime, wouldn't reveal the fate of his character, he did tell Entertainment Weekly that his love for Cersei will be Jaime's downfall, just as Lady Olenna predicted. "It's not going to end well for Jaime Lannister, I can't imagine," he stated. So whether he does die in the lake or if he's taken into captivity by Daenerys, things are not looking good for this Lannister sibling. His only saving grace may be his brother, Tyrion.

Daenerys accused Tyrion of trying to help his siblings in the latest episode, and though those accusations were definitely false, Tyrion and Jaime have always been rather close. Jaime's the reason Tyrion was able to escape his death sentence.

It was clear Tyrion was worried about Jaime during the battle and if Jaime does become Daenerys' prisoner, Tyrion will undoubtedly try his best to keep him safe. However, at some point, Tyrion will have to choose a side, so who will he choose?
