Will The Starks Take Back Winterfell On 'Game Of Thrones'? It's A Long Shot

by Zakiya Jamal

From the first season of Game of Thrones, the Starks have had it rough. Ned was beheaded, Rob and Catelyn were betrayed, and Jon Snow is dead (probably). And those are only the deaths. Let's not forget Sansa's terrible time with the Lannisters and then the Boltons, Arya's continuous struggles, or the fact that Bran was pushed out of a window in the first episode. The Starks are never really sure how many of them are still alive at any given time and they definitely don't know where each other is or how to find them. But, could the Starks take back Winterfell in Game of Thrones Season 6? Their time might be now.

In summary, the Starks are struggling. But, it seems like their misfortune may finally be changing. In the newest trailer for Season 6 of Game of Thrones, it's clear Sansa made it out of Winterfell alive and wants revenge.

"It's all I think about," Sansa says. "What was taken from me."

And there was so much that Ramsey and the Boltons took from her. Her mother, her brother, her sister-in-law that she never met, and more than anything, her virginity. Ramsey continuously abused Sansa and it's no surprise she wants revenge. Who wouldn't?

While Sansa figures out her own revenge plot, Arya is still in Braavos, learning about the Many Faced God and developing her skills. Even though Arya is now blind, the skills she learns in Braavos could be helpful to her if she returns to her Winterfell or King's Landing.

And speaking of returns, Bran is finally back with some powers of his own. Besides his visions, it looks like Bran is walking again. Although it's still a little unclear what exactly Bran can do it, he does have skills that could be helpful. He may be dealing with the White Walkers right now, but I'm sure he hates the Lannisters and Boltons just as much as his sisters do.

It seems this season just might be the Starks time to shine. Even though it's highly doubtful all the Stark siblings will be reunited this season, it still seems like they'll each make great strides. Plus, Sansa has the greatest chance of getting her home back and if she can convince "Littlefinger" to take back Winterfell, Sansa might have a shot. Still, it is a long shot, but one can hope that the Starks will have their comeback soon.

Game of Thrones return on April 24, but you can watch the new trailer again and again above.
