1. It’s Very Common

If your baby is diagnosed with RSV, don’t feel guilty; RSV is the most common cause of lower respiratory tract infection in babies. In fact, it is the leading cause of hospitalization in babies under age 1. This includes mild, cold-like illness, and infections like bronchiolitis and pneumonia.

2. RSV Is Unpredictable

Each year, 79,850 babies are hospitalized due to RSV, making it the leading cause of hospitalization in babies under age 1. However, it's impossible to predict which babies will be hospitalized. In fact, nearly two out of three babies under 1 hospitalized with RSV were born healthy at full term.”
