How To Throw A Falcons-Themed Party For Kids

With a husband-to-be that is a massive Atlanta Falcons fan, it's about time I thought up some red and black Falcons-themed kid party ideas. (I'm pretty sure I'll be throwing a few as we add more children to our family.) But I know I'm not the only one out there. With the Atlanta Falcons headed to Super Bowl 51 this weekend, every Falcons fan is preparing to rise up and is seriously excited for the red and black mayhem that's sure to come.

But a red and black Falcons party doesn't have to be just for the Super Bowl and it doesn't have to include beer. Even the littlest Falcons fans can throw on their Julio Jones jersey and have an incredible party. Whether it's to celebrate a birthday, a big milestone, or just an excuse to have everyone over on a Saturday afternoon, these 11 red and black Falcons kids' party ideas are sure to put a smile on everyone's face. It's pretty easy to decorate for the Falcons and you don't need a whole lot of accessories, but with some creativity, you can make it look even more spirited than the Georgia Dome did when the Falcons won the NFC Championship.

1

Make Ugly Football Sweaters

Who says ugly sweaters have to be a Christmas activity? This ugly football sweater idea from Mod Podge Rocks is both the perfect party activity to do with your kiddos and doubles as a favor. Grab some red t-shirts (they don't have to be sweaters), black accessories like boas and fringe, and some Falcons-theme emblems or football crafts to decorate your own tacky football shirt. Hold a contest and give the winner a gift for some extra fun.

2

Pick Up Red & Black Straws

Straws are a necessity for kids' parties, but they can also double as your decor. These red and black straws from PuppyCatCrafts on Etsy are the perfect addition to your party table. Make sure to throw them in an ice cold bottle of Coca-Cola if you really want to spread the Falcons love.

3

Send Out Falcons-Themed Invites

A party starts with the invitation and these Falcons-themed invites from GamedayPrintable on Etsy are a must-have. They look like tickets, but share all the details of your kiddo's party and are guaranteed to get everyone excited about the date.

4

Grab Personalized Cokes For Guests

Want another great favor? Get your kids' guests a personalized 8-ounce Coca-Cola. Coke pretty much runs through the veins of Atlanta so it's the best drink to represent the Falcons, but that red label is also an extra piece of decor for your party. Seriously, you can't go wrong with an ice cold Coke.

5

Make A Pepperoni Pizza Football Cheese Ball

Um, hello. Pizza and cheese in a football shape? Kids will go crazy for it no matter what kind of party you're throwing, but a Falcons party, they'll feel even more like Matt Ryan as they dive in for a snack. This pepperoni pizza football cheese ball from Mom On Timeout is pretty easy to make and has all the flavors kids (and adults) love. It will look great on the snack table, but will also (hopefully) keep those tummies full as they run around like the Falcons' Jones and Freeman.

6

Fill The House With Falcons Balloons

A party isn't a party without balloons and Party City has you covered with their bouquets of red balloons and black Falcons-themed football balloons ($12). This is the easiest way to decorate your home and it packs a lot of punch.

7

Make Themed Cupcakes

Cupcakes and parties go together like . . . well, like cupcakes and parties. But these vanilla cupcakes with chocolate buttercream and fresh raspberry sauce from Good Life Eats are perfect for a Falcons-themed party. They're obviously going to be delicious since there's chocolate and raspberry involved, but they will also make a red centerpiece shine.

8

Make Football-Shaped Ice

The quarterback (and hopeful MVP) of the Falcons is Matt Ryan, otherwise known as Matty Ice. How can you ignore that kind of nickname? Pick up this Rox football ice tray ($10) for football-shaped ice to fill cups or keep drinks in a cooler cold. Hey, maybe the kids can find some kind of game to play with them once the party's over? I don't recommend throwing them though.

9

Make Pom Poms

Red, black, and white pom poms are everywhere at a Falcons game, so bring some of that energy home with this tutorial on how to make pom poms from JK Arts. It's really simple and the kids will have a blast putting them together and cheering on their team all year long.

10

Make Coke Float Push-Up Pops

Coke floats are a treat, sure. But these Coke float push-up pops from Gimme Some Oven take the classic drink to a whole new level. Remember, Coke is basically Atlanta's blood, so it's a must at a Falcons-themed party, but the colors are also perfect for your red and black shindig. (Not to mention how delicious these little treats are.)

11

Make Red & Black Friendship Bracelets

I always think friendship bracelets are a sweet craft at a kids' party and with these Perler red, black, and white beads ($11), your little guests will be able to create their own Falcons-themed bracelets. Don't forget the string and a few assorted Falcons beads to complete the look.
