Throw A Patriots-Themed Party For Pint-Sized Fans

by Autumn Jones

My kids are big time football fans. In fact, my youngest son takes great pride in the fact that his birthday always falls on the week of Super Bowl Sunday. My boys love watching the game so much that they pass on big parties because they don't want the other kids distracting them from non-stop viewing. Yeah, it's pretty real in our house when it comes to football. But even when it's just the four of us, we still make it into a celebration. Which is why red and blue Patriots-themed kid party ideas have me thinking of all the ways I can make this Sunday extra special for my little guys (and the big one, too.)

Using the red and blue colors of the Patriots as a theme, you can really let your imagination run wild with ideas for food, decor, and craft projects. Whether it's just your family or a group of friends watching the big game together, you can add some team spirit to your Super Bowl festivities. These nine ideas will help to get the tiniest of fans psyched and ready for a night of football and can also keep little hands busy during the half time show.

1

Serve Food On A Fan Fave Platter

Every good party needs some tasty treats to munch on. Serve up snacks in the New England Patriots candy dish ($22) available from 1 Of A Kind Crafts. To stick with your theme, load this bowl up with red and blue candies for Patriots pride.

2

Top Tables With Themed Decor

Add some red and blue pizzazz to your party table with Crafter Hours's kid-friendly patriotic table runner made of felt and ribbon. You can make these in advance, or let the kids join in the fun by making their own at the party. Either way, it's a colorful addition to any table.

3

Serve Some Mini Pies On Sticks

Make event the smallest Super Bowl fans smile with these mini pies on sticks from Domestic Fits. Easy to eat while cheering on the team and just the right size to satisfy that sweet tooth without going over the top on sugar.

4

Whip Up A Flag Pizza

Pizza is a staple of football food, and this patriotic take on a classic pie works great to both satisfy little bellies and tie in the New England spirit. Making this flag pizza is simple when you use the recipe from Delia Creates.

5

Craft Some DIY Purses

Let the kids get their hands a little dirty before kick-off by making this DIY kids purse from Handmade Charlotte. All you need are some paper plates and marker or paint, and before you can say "touchdown" the kids will have created a fun bag to keep their football trading cards in.

6

Hang Up A Patriots Piñata

All the Super Bowl shorties will love taking a whack at this football helmet piñata ($35) from Piñata USA. Fill this bad boy up with red and blue suckers to let the Patriot spirit (literally) burst out of your party.

7

Pour Some Layered Red & Blue Punch

You only need three ingredients to make No. 2 Pencil's layered punch in red and blue. Kids will love the fruity flavors and colorful look of this refreshing drink. Perfect for washing down pizza, wings, and nachos.

8

Make Some Berry Lemonade Popsicles

Make this cool and fruity dessert to serve as the perfect ending to your Patriots Super Bowl party. The House That Lars Built has the recipe for these red and blue berry lemonade popsicles down to perfection.

9

Create A Banner & Photo Back Drop

Place this Patriots party decor on the wall for a great backdrop for all your guests' snaps. Sports Nutz has created this Patriots banner ($22) any fan will go crazy for.
