'Bachelor's Lace Is Just Like Cecily Strong's Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started A Conversation With At A Party, According To The Internet

by Kate Ward

At the end of The Bachelor season premiere, it's likely that contestant Morris will field plenty of labels. Mean girl, drunk girl, desperate girl... everyone seems to have an opinion about the contestant after she made quite the impression on the first episode. But more than anything else, the Internet is comparing Lace to Cecily Strong's Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started A Conversation With At A Party. You know, the Saturday Night Live character who won over audiences with her messy, hilarious party conversation. Because it seems many in the Bachelor mansion really did not want to start a conversation with Lace either following her smack talk about her fellow contestants.

It's not just one viewer who has made the observation. After Lacy exited the limo promptly to plant a kiss on Bachelor Ben Higgins and went on to corner Ben several times throughout the premiere, Twitter lit up with tweets insisting that the two are identical. Now, of course, it's not the most flattering of comparisons — Strong's character does tend to annoy Weekend Update's co-anchors as much as drunk people at frat party tended to annoy you back in college. But, hey, Strong is hilarious, and so is her infamous character, so perhaps Lace should take this one as a compliment? It's certainly better than "mean girl," isn't it? (Even if, really, we should avoid labeling these women altogether?)

First, for some context, let's remember how Lace acted during the Bachelor premiere:

In fact, the Internet is so convinced, that the first Bachelor conspiracy theory of the season has officially hit the Twitterverse.
