Chrissy Teigen is basically the kind of person who seems so totally awesome and down-to-earth that you can't even hate on her for being ridiculously gorgeous and hilarious with a marriage so solid and sweet that it is basically a real-life romance movie. So when she and hubby John Legend announced their pregnancy back in October, it wasn't a stretch to expect that she'd be keeping it real, sharing all of her "seriously? WTF!" pregnancy moments moms everywhere know to be a part of life. Teigen has been super open on Instagram about things like bump-induced wardrobe malfunctions, body changes, and food cravings (craaavingggggsss), which makes her one of the most relatable pregnant celebs of life. As someone who has been featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition seven times, it's no surprise that Teigen knows how to take a good Instagram shot. Her Honest Pregnancy Announcement
OK, so maybe she looks flawless and everything about this shot is total #relationshipgoals. But even though she could have played her pregnancy off like it was NBD, Teigen was upfront about sharing that their happy news didn't come easily to them, writing,
John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We're so excited that it's finally happening. Teigen has been open about the couple's infertility struggle, and how difficult it had been in the past when people would unknowingly ask her whether she wanted kids or why she hadn't gotten pregnant yet, according to Us Weekly. Her life might looked totally charmed, but this pic is a perfect example that Teigen is not immune to hard times, just like everyone else.
Her Hilarious Acceptance Of Her New Body
No matter how excited you are to become a mom, the changes in your body that seem to pop up overnight can be, well, really strange. Teigen shared this funny shot of her pregnant self, writing, "Hello new thighs! You appeared out of nowhere but I am not mad at it!" Pregnant women everywhere nodded in understanding.
Her Unapologetic Eating Habits
One of my favorite things about Teigen is how much she loves to eat — and that she doesn't even sort of feel like she has to apologize for it. Unlike other celebs, who sometimes brag about their strict eating habits or expensive organic smoothies, Teigen keeps it real, admitting that she loves donuts and tacos and burgers and all the other delicious things women are supposed to pretend they don't love with every fiber of their being. Case in point? She posted this photo to Instagram, along with the caption, "this is me proudly buying 50 donuts."
Her Maternity Clothes Battle
I, for one, loved maternity clothes (stretchy everything!), but it also totally sucks when you start to outgrow the regular clothes that would normally make you feel good about yourself. For Teigen, that means teeny shorts (hey, more power to you, girl). After posting two photos of herself looking amazing in her decidedly non-maternity shorts, Teigen wrote, "I will not give up my shorts until the buttons pop." You do you, mama. It's an awesome example for all women to see her wearing them anyway, no matter what anyone tries to say pregnant women should or shouldn't wear.
It won't be much longer now until Baby Girl Teigen-Legend makes her way into the world (the couple has already had a couple of celeb-studded baby showers to celebrate), but when she does, it's a pretty safe bet that Teigen will continue to share her honest, super relatable thoughts on Instagram — and that we'll all love her even more for it.
