Oh, those Duggars. The massive family behind TLC's Counting On is always celebrating some sort of milestone, which makes sense if there are 19 kids in the family. It seems someone is always getting engaged, getting married, or having babies. One of the younger Duggar sisters, Joy-Anna, made short work of both milestones this year, and she looks to be having the time of her life. Joy-Anna's pregnancy posts on Instagram make it clear that she is excited about the next chapter of her life with new husband, Austin Forsyth.
Joy-Anna and Austin were married in May and announced they were expecting their first child in August after returning from a gorgeous honeymoon in Switzerland. While the couple shared their news with People magazine initially, they also shared a sweet Instagram pic of Joy-Anna holding out an ice cream sundae with the words "Eating for two" on the side of the bowl. Joy-Anna, who shares an Instagram account with husband Austin, captioned the photo:
Austin and I are SO thankful to announce that we are parents!! Even before we were married we prayed that God would give us children and we are so blessed that he has given us this baby!
For his part, Austin (who works at his parents' camp, Fort Rock Family Camp and Retreat Center in northwest Arkansas), told People how excited he was to become a father:
I’m really looking forward to the journey of this pregnancy and all the different stages it will bring. It’s really exciting and I feel so blessed to be a dad! We are beyond thankful!
Joy-Anna posted a baby bump selfie in October and was proud to announce that she had already felt the baby kicking:
Can't wait to meet our baby!! 👶🏼 I got to feel it kick for the first time a few days ago!!! Soooooo amazing!!! It's already about the size of a bell pepper and weighs around half a pound!!!
While the young couple has been the target of some so-far unsubstantiated fan speculation that their May wedding was of the "shotgun" variety, and that Joy-Anna is much further along in her pregnancy than she claims, the Forsyths don't seem to be letting the negative attention get to them. Austin posted a sweet throwback picture of Joy-Anna in September with the caption:
One year and a day ago I sent Joy these flowers while I was at flight school. It's amazing how life can change in just one year. I am so blessed to have a wife that loves Jesus and me.
The best way to deal with haters is not dealing with them at all.
The couple celebrated Veteran's Day with Austin's grandfather, who's a veteran. They shared a nice black-and-white picture of themselves posing with Austin's grandpa and Joy-Anna cradling her baby bump looking happy and healthy. They captioned the photo with a quote from Ronald Reagan (yeah, seriously) that read:
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.
As Joy-Anna's pregnancy continues to move along, there will most likely continue to be speculation that she's further along than she says, or maybe that she's having twins... whatever.
Ultimately, the only thing Joy-Anna and Austin can do is continue to move through the world the way they have been. Ignore the negativity, and prepare to become parents for the first time. Because isn't that momentous enough?
