Meaningful Pieces Of Parenting Advice For Each Astrological Sign

by Sarah Bunton

Talking about your astrological sign isn't just for awkward chats at the bar or seeing if the stars will align for your lottery ticket purchases. Whether you put much stock in to the zodiac or not, you can't deny that sometimes the insight is dead on. If you've made the transition into the next phase of your life and have become a parent, then you might be interested in meaningful pieces of parenting advice for each astrological sign. Even if you're skeptical, you might just be surprised by some of the wisdom the zodiac has about parenthood.

Looking to the stars for a little extra guidance or reassurance is certainly nothing new. From characters in Greek mythology, like centaurs and twins, represented as symbols in the zodiac to the constellations being used as navigational assistance, imbuing the cosmos with meaning is a practice perhaps as old as humanity itself. And with each astrological sign having its own unique set of traits, it's no surprise that parenting styles would look differently among the various signs of the zodiac.

So whether you're a curious Capricorn or a skeptical Scorpio, check out these meaningful pieces of parenting advice based on your astrological sign.

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

According to the experts at the website, Astrology, the first sign of the zodiac is a fire sign with an equally fiery temperament. So if your fuse tends to run on the short side, remember to count to 10 and allow room for calmness when your little one is trying your patience.

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

Taurus is represented by the bull, so it's not surprising that the second sign of the zodiac is known for being bull-headed and stubborn, as What's Your Sign noted. Though it may be in your nature to never budge on things, perhaps a little compromise every now and then could help keep the family dynamic in harmony.

Gemini (May 21 to June 20)

Appropriately represented by twins, Gemini can be both spontaneously imaginative and suddenly serious, according to Astrology Zodiac Signs. You can use this to your benefit when it comes to parenting. Tap into your childlike creativity to connect with your kids, then bring focus and meaning to the situation to make lasting memories.

Cancer (June 21 to July 22)

The fourth sign of the zodiac gets a bad reputation for being just as crabby as its mascot. Yet, according to Astrology, the main similarity between a crab and a Cancer is the way they fiercely defend their home—regardless if its a shell or a house. Though protecting your family is an admirable attribute, it's always a good idea to verbally let your little ones know just how much they mean to you instead of relying on your actions alone.

Leo (July 23 to Aug. 22)

Just like the powerful lion, most Leos are leaders due to their passionate personality and loyalty to their kin, as Astrology Zodiac Signs noted. Since Leos are so proud of their family, you might want to make sure you don't embarrass your kids too much with all your bragging and photo sharing.

Virgo (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22)

One of the main criticisms of the sixth sign of the zodiac, Virgo, is how critical and analytical they can be, as Astrology noted. Though a Virgo probably just sees it as paying attention to detail, keep in mind that some of the best moments in both a parent and child's life are the spontaneous, messy, and imperfect ones. It's OK to just let things be sometimes.

Libra (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22)

Represented by scales, Libra is all about creating balance and harmony in the home, according to What's Your Sign. Don't be surprised if your role tends to be that of the referee and peacemaker. A word to the wise, though, don't let your kids take advantage of your pacifist nature. It may not be fun, but occasionally the only way to ensure harmony is by laying down the law.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 to Nov. 21)

Scorpios tend to act a lot like detectives due to their mysterious and skeptical nature, as Astrology noted. Though you may have the urge to snoop through your kids' belongings, the healthiest approach to finding the truth is to have an open conversation with your child. You might be surprised how much trust you'll build with your children by taking a step back from the magnifying glass.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 to Dec. 21)

Born wanderers, those born under the sign of Sagittarius can get impatient with the status quo, according to Astrology Zodiac Signs. Wanting to break out of a routine is normal, but remember to be sensitive to your child's comfort zone and embark on adventures when everyone is on board with the idea.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 to Jan. 19)

As far as astrological symbols go, the goat-fish hybrid has always been a memorable one. As it turns out, Capricorns are half goat and half fish because they can adapt to any environment, like the earth and the sea, according to Astrology. Being able to adjust to any situation is perhaps the best skill a parent could have, so don't forget to use it.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 to Feb. 18)

Helping others and solving problems are innate qualities of Aquarius members, as Astrology Zodiac Signs noted. It's good to remember, though, that you need to take care of yourself, too. Nurturing and devoting your time to your family is wonderful, but they need you to be happy and healthy as well.

Pisces (Feb. 19 to March 20)

Always sensitive and tuned in to others' feelings, Pisces can be quite the emotional creature, according to Astrology. Perhaps the sign most at risk for being "touched-out," Pisces benefit from keeping and clear channel of communication with their family so everyone can be on the same page about respecting space.
