She holds a degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Southern California and has a background in entertainment and marketing. She also has a monthly column at The Hinsdalean covering local news, politics, and culture. Gabriela is also the founder of ModernBrownGirl.com, a lifestyle site dedicated to amplifying brown voices. Gabriela lives outside of Chicago with her husband, two kids, and feisty Bernedoodle. When she is not working and being a personal assistant to her children, Gabriela enjoys cooking, antique shopping, gallery hopping, and marathon-watching Bravo TV.
