Steph Auteri

Steph Auteri (she/her) is a journalist who has written for the Atlantic, Pacific Standard, VICE, Rewire News Group, and elsewhere. Her more literary work has appeared in Poets & Writers, Creative Nonfiction, Southwest Review, under the gum tree, and other publications.

Her reported memoir, A Dirty Word, came out in 2018 and is about how she became a sex writer in order to fix herself, only to learn that it is the way our culture treats sexuality that is broken.

In 2020, she launched GuerrillaSexEd.org, an online resource for parents and other caregivers seeking out alternative sources of sex ed information for their kids. She is mom to both a human and a cat and, when not writing, likes to do yoga, sing, and post ridiculous ukulele videos to Instagram. You can learn more at stephauteri.com.
