Preeminent British designer Victoria Beckham is making her Target debut, which means her high-end fashion will soon be accessible to many more women — namely, those of us who don't regularly shell out hundreds or thousands of dollars on clothes and accessories. The wider availability extends to the youngest fashionistas, as well. That's because the Target collaboration includes adorable spring wear for both moms, kids (specifically little girls), and even babies — and photos of Victoria Beckham's children's line ahead of the highly anticipated April 9 release date will make you want it all.
From a gingham twill top waist dress to a baby blush floral ruffle trim top and capri set, the Victoria Beckham for Target line is set to introduce what Beckham described to Vogue as a "sophisticated and chic" look to babies, toddlers, and girls in addition to women. And while the woman formerly known as Posh Spice of the 1990s pop group the Spice Girls first launched her self-named fashion line almost a decade ago, this is her first foray into children's styles.
But she had the perfect copilot in the design process: her 5-year-daughter, Harper. "It has been a dream come true to design pieces that Harper can wear!" the style icon told People magazine in an interview published after the first ad for the line went live Wednesday, adding that both mother and daughter had already worn some pieces from the line.
Harper's favorite is a dress with bunnies on the collar, she told Vogue, but the sneak peak of the entire children's collection shows that all of the pieces are "fave"-worthy. And with the approximately 200 products for women and kids ranging in price from $10 to $70 — with most hovering around $40 — many admirers of Beckham's work can soon graduate from window shopping her much more expensive designs to actually purchasing her Target ones.
After all, the adorable florals, peplum, and pastels of the children's collection are going to be hard to resist.
Seriously, how cute is this?
And kids who don't know the sensation that was the Spice Girls, and didn't feel that tug of giddy nostalgia when they saw the promotional video for the line set to "Spice Up Your Life" the way their moms may have, will still go crazy over it. How could they not?
... Especially with the Easter bunny right around the corner?
Obviously, Beckham's decision not to reunite with the rest of the Spice Girls last year freed her up to work on some truly irresistible styles for kids. Moms everywhere will be glad she did (even if they were bummed about her missing the reunion).
Mark your calendar for April 9 — because these adorable styles will go fast.
