Pregnancy Advice For Every Astrological Sign

by Sarah Bunton

Since the moment mammals were able to conceive, it was the female who became pregnant and eventually gave birth. And for just as long, women have likely searched high and low for any and all forms of advice to help them survive the nine plus months of growing a tiny human inside of them. Creating and carrying life is no small feat, mind you. So it's not surprising that even skeptical moms-to-be might turn to the stars for reassurance. And, as it turns out, there is pregnancy advice for every astrological sign that's suited to your particular personality traits and attributes.

Whether you believe in the accuracy or validity of the zodiac or not, exploring the various avenues of wisdom the world has to offer can, at the very least, distract you from your swollen ankles and morning (but basically all-day) sickness. From decoding your child's mood to all the different kinds of parenting struggles everyone can relate to, astrology has some pretty interesting insight to offer both expectant and veteran parents.

So whether you're in your first trimester and still feeling a bit nervous or you've finally made it to the homestretch and are just ready to give birth already, here are some solid pieces of pregnancy advice based on your astrological sign.

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

As you might already know, being stubborn is the trademark trait of Aries, according to Astrology. With that said, try to remember that being pregnant isn't about proving anything to anyone. So if you doctor says no heavy lifting or puts you on bed rest, suppress your urge to power through and take it easy for the sake of both you and your baby.

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

The second sign of the zodiac shares some similarities with Aries, primarily that a Taurus can be pretty bull-headed, according to What's Your Sign. Even though you might be tempted to ignore any limitations that can come with pregnancy, make sure to listen to your body and know when to take a break.

Gemini (May 21 to June 20)

Pretty much everyone knows that part of being pregnant is dealing with hormonal mood swings. Interestingly enough, as Astrology Zodiac Signs noted, you might be used to emotional ups and downs since Gemini symbolizes a dual nature, not unlike the yin and yang. Try to tap into that innate ability to switch between gears seamlessly to navigate the roller coaster that is pregnancy.

Cancer (June 21 to July 22)

When you really think about it, calling a Cancer crabby just because that's their mascot isn't all that fair. In fact, according to Astrology, the kinship to a crab has more to do with a Cancer being a homebody and protective of their dwelling. Take full advantage of that hermit life and get a jump start on the whole nesting thing that comes with being an expectant parent.

Leo (July 23 to Aug. 22)

What do Leos and a lion have in common? They're both extremely fierce and not afraid to show it, as What's Your Sign noted. So if your changing mood and body start to make you feel insecure, just remember that you are growing a life inside of you and there isn't anything more powerful than that.

Virgo (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22)

I know, a pregnant Virgo sounds a bit like the set-up to a lame joke. But, as Astrology Zodiac Signs mentioned, the virgin connection to the sixth sign of the zodiac is a bit of a misconception. It's actually not so much about having sexual self-control as it is about having a strong sense of restraint in general. But being hyper vigilant all the time can be stressful, especially when you're with child. So don't feel guilty if you want to let loose every once in a while.

Libra (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22)

Libra, the seventh sign of the zodiac, is known for being fair and balanced like the scales which represent it, as What's Your Sign noted. That's why it can be especially difficult when pregnancy throws off your whole system of harmony. The silver lining of this, however, is that it's basically getting you ready for the unpredictability of parenthood. Balance is great, but so is spontaneity.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 to Nov. 21)

Scorpios can get a bad rap for being mysterious, intense, and having the bite (or sting) to back up their bark. In reality, there is no other zodiac sign is as determined, passionate, and motivated as a Scorpio, according to Astrology. So ignore the haters who think you're getting a little too Pintrest-crazy while you're nesting. You do you, Scorpio, but don't forget delegate from time to time.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 to Dec. 21)

What do archers and the ninth sign of the zodiac have in common? They require intense focus to be good at what they do. However, as Astrology Zodiac Signs noted, this goal-oriented personality can cause you to feel impatient as a Sagittarius. Obviously three trimesters is a long time to wait, but just remind yourself that it will all be worth it.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 to Jan. 19)

Although being represented by a half goat, half fish might seem weird, there are surprising benefits. According to What's Your Sign, the reason for the symbol is to show that a Capricorn can survive anywhere, land or sea. If you're ever starting to feel overwhelmed during your pregnancy, just remember that you were born under a sign which is designed to adapt to anything.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 to Feb. 18)

It's not unusual for the progressive Aquarius to feel penned in at times, as Astrology noted. Whether you're confined to bed rest or you simply can't do the things you used to due to the tiny human growing inside of you, try to channel that restlessness into a productive distraction. Who knows? Maybe you'll discover a hidden talent for crocheting or video games.

Pisces (Feb. 19 to March 20)

Compassionate to a fault, Pisces is the zodiac sign most likely to feel burnt out at the end of the day from caring too much, according to Astrology Zodiac Signs. Though being a natural nurturer is wonderful prep for becoming a parent, just make sure to take care of yourself, too. A happy mommy means a happy pregnancy.
