Barbara Kimberly Seigel

Barbara Kimberly Seigel is a New York City-based freelance writer and editor who has covered everything from grown-up and child wellness and health to pop culture and politics — and now does it all through a parenting lens. Most recently, her bylines have appeared online throughout Wirecutter’s gift guides for kids, in personal pieces for Healthline’s parenthood vertical, and on Care.com — where she has taken on topics in child development, as well as celebrating the Jewish holidays with children.

Barbara received her bachelor's degree in English from Cornell University and her master's degree in journalism from NYU and has taught in the English department as an adjunct at Mercy College. She started pivoting from her print editorial roles at Life & Style Weekly and In Touch Weekly with her hybrid print and digital position at PEOPLE and then as the senior entertainment editor at CafeMom. Outside her professional freelance work, she now spends most of her days reveling in her most joyous and rewarding role yet — that of mom.
