Bryan's Chances Of A 'Bachelorette' Hometown Date Are Pretty Good

by Chrissy Bobic

It’s not necessarily a given that the winner of the first impression rose makes it all the way to hometown dates, but since Rachel did give it to Bryan, there has to be something there. So does Bryan get a hometown date on The Bachelorette? The Miami doctor has a huge family that would likely welcome Rachel into the fold. And I feel that meeting his immediate relatives, including the parents he seems to be so close to, would definitely give Bryan some extra brownie points with Rachel.

Not that he needs them though, since he’s seemed like a shoo-in since the moment he stepped out of that limo. The promo for Monday’s episode of The Bachelorette shows the possibility (even if the editing of the preview is just there to trick fans) of Peter being in hot water with Rachel, but for the most part, Bryan’s relationship with her has gone pretty smoothly. There hasn’t been much room for doubt and I think we can all agree that the boy can kiss.

OK, so that’s probably not why he’s lasted so long, but it’s still important to note that if Rachel still has so much chemistry with Bryan, there’s a good chance he gets a hometown date on The Bachelorette this season.

In one of Rachel’s recent People.com blog posts, she opened up about her feelings for Bryan and how it felt when he became the first contestant this season to tell her that he’s falling in love with her. And — spoiler alert — she definitely welcomed it:

Something changed that night, and I was able to push past my old familiar fears and really take in the feelings behind Bryan’s words. Bryan’s vulnerability challenged me to reciprocate that vulnerability. I was developing feelings, too, and that knot of fear in my stomach turned into butterflies. I’ve always liked butterflies.

Rachel also said in the blog that during their ski jump date in Norway, she was able to connect with him and that he showed her "our emotional connection had caught up to our physical chemistry."

A couple of perfect one-on-ones doesn’t mean you automatically get a hometown date on The Bachelorette, but the fact that Bryan’s dates with Rachel have all seemed to go so well shows that his chances are just as good as anyone else’s. And let’s face it — of the six remaining men, he’s definitely not in the bottom two, so fans will no doubt be meeting Bryan’s big family on hometown dates. I'm sure of it.
