Alexia McKay is a News Writer for Romper. She’s always looking out for the top trends and headlines from hardcore 5’o clock style news to lifestyle and entertainment. Additionally, as a budding entrepreneur, she enjoys covering business-related topics and has a soft spot for mental health. With over 11 years in the industry, the Florida A&M University graduate has worked at CBS, ABC, FOX, and Spectrum news affiliates as a television news producer. Alexia is also the publisher, founder, editor in chief of RoyalTee Magazine, a digital and print quarterly publication that focuses on millennial, minority men and women who are making impacts in business, art, and humanitarian works through entrepreneurial endeavors. Aside from her own platform, her work has appeared in the Florida Courier, The Daytona Times, and the Michael Baisden Show. She has also covered major entertainment events such as the BET Awards in Los Angeles and conducted various celebrity interviews. When she is not working, Alexia enjoys traveling, online shopping, happy hour with friends, sushi, catching up with friends, and being a bird mother to her parakeet, Lemon Drop. Additionally, she enjoys getting involved in her community and helping others as a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
